Paros
The island of Paros is located in the center of the Cyclades islands, in the Aegean sea and it’s one of the largest islands of the group with Parikia being its capital. It offers 120 km. of beautiful coastline. The guests can also visit the Byzantine Church of Ekatontapyliani, the Archeological Museum of Paros, the ancient Acropolis and many more sights. The famous Petaloudes valley, is a place near Alyki where from late spring until the first months of the summer you will see a splendid display of thousands of butterflies covering the entire valley. The position of the island of Paros is also ideal for small one day or two day trips to other islands in the Cyclades, like Naxos (also Koufonisia), Antiparos, also Syros, Myconos and others.
Antiparos
The island of Antiparos is located in the south-west of Paros. The ship from Paros (Punda village) to Antiparos takes only 1o minutes: there is a ship every 15 minutes from 7:00 o’clock in the morning until 03:00′ after midnight. In Antiparos there are really nice beaches (but you have to have a vehicle to visit them), there is a cave, nice tavernas and restaurants. There is also very nice night life.
Alyki
The romantic village of Alyki is located in the south of Paros island. It is a really nice and warm place for your vacation. It’s a village leaning on the sea, overlooking some of the best beaches of Paros. It’s situated on a little gulf sheltered from the Meltemi wind. The sea is superb and there are many beautiful sandy beaches within the village and many more just outside it. Alyki is also great family place because the sea is ideal and safe for children. There is a children playground, a football pitch, a basketball court and a tennis one near the beach. The village is calm and relaxing and offers several tavernas near or beside the sea where you can enjoy delicious fish and also traditional meals.
Alyki and transportation
- 11 km away from the capital of Paros, Paroikia, where there is also the main port of the island, with daily trips to all other islands and to the main port of Pireus, Athens.
- 4 km from Paros airport with daily flights to Athens
- 5 km from Punda village, where there is also the port to Antiparos
- For those not having their own vehicle, there are local buses that connect Alyki with the rest of the island
Alyki and beaches
- Main Alyki beach in the center of Alyki and second Alyki beach, 500 meters away.
- Faraggas beach, 2 km (Organized beach with excellent waters, water sports, very good also for the children)
- Golden beach, 11 km (Golden beach is famous as a place for wind surfing)
- Punda beach near Golden beach, 12km (Famous for it’s beach parties)
- Punda beach, 5 km (Punda beach is famous as a place for kite surfing)
Other beaches worth visiting is Kolymbithres and Monastiri beach near Naoussa and other.
Alyki and accomodation
- In Alyki you can find everything you want, like Rent a car/bike, tourist shops, mini markets, tavernas, restaurants, three very nice bars. Also, many events take place during the night, where the visitors can get to know the traditional way of life in Paros.
